A real bad problem lies in the rest they provide to the back.

As the back reclines, it is forced to do so by bending the spine at the wrong points turning the outward curves into inward and thus contracting the thoracic diaphragm in the ugliest way possible.

Even the heights of the sofa sets, cars and chairs in front of tables are not conducive to keeping the thighs horizontal while sitting.

If the thighs are horizontal, you don't tend to push your hips forward.

As the hips are pushed forward, the thoracic diaphragm takes a dip down and in bending the spine into a curve even without a rest to blame for it.

And as the thoracic diaphragm dips in, the shine and the luster in our bright eyes are expelled out turning them lifeless instantaneously!

Had the back rest been designed in a more scientific manner, it would have given us an alarm as and when we tended to bend the back into a curve.

Alas! Our manufacturers never paid any heed to what great harm their products would be inflicting on the bodies they were designed to give rest to!
