We everyday see it as we rear our own kids since they have to be trained anew in the ways of the human society that we have framed for them though against their own natural drives, which they are born biologically with.
They don't know what we have conspired designing for them and hence as they are a few months old, they start exploring their own sex organs playing with them in a physical way.
The mother comes and watches the scene.
The child is not ashamed.

But the mother would come again and scream the same way repeating the whole saga every time until the child intuitively gets her message and squeezes her/his pelvis in a more or less permanent way as s/he can associate her tone with her/his action now.
But her/his bright eyes go lifeless as s/he acquires control over it.
The child has started getting her/his first lessons of stress that the human society has in store for her/him.
